Skaginn, based in Akranes, Iceland produce ice making equipment and fluid ice systems.  The development of the fluid ice system for hide preservation has resulted in a more even distribution of ice over the hide and a much more rapid cooling than the use of conventional ice allows.  Fluid ice can be added manually via a hose or automatically at a pre - set rate per hide.  Fluid ice can easily be pumped and the temperature of the ice can also be varied.
